Matthew Wade’s Finisher Masterclass! Hobart Hurricanes Beat Melbourne Renegades by 4 Wickets | BBL Highlights

Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Renegades BBL Match Highlights Matthew Wade and Nathan Ellis

The Big Bash League 2025-26 saw another nail-biting game in which the Hobart Hurricanes inflicted a brutal 4-wicket defeat on Melbourne Renegades:

Match Summary (Scores):
MLR: 162/9 in 20.0 overs.
Hobart Hurricanes (HBH): 163/6 in 19.0 overs.
Result: Hobart Hurricanes triumphed by 4 wickets with 6 balls to spare.

Matthew Wade’s Finisher Masterclass.
With 18 runs required off the last two overs, the storied Matthew Wade stood up and showed he still had it. He launched an astoundingly brilliant attack on Gurinder Sandhu, resulting in a total of 43 runs from only 20 balls* to finish the game with an over to spare.

POTM-Captain Nathan Ellis shines.
Captain Nathan Ellis of Hobart Hurricanes was selected player of the match for his outstanding leadership and bowling. Under his captain mandate, the Hurricanes have won 4 of 5 games overall, comfortably standing near the top of the table.

Hard Luck for the Renegades here in Melbourne.
Even with a spectacular bowling performance from Adam Zampa — taking 3/25 in 4.0 overs in an effort to pound down on the Hurricanes’ middle order — the Renegades weren’t able to counter their total. They are only at the bottom of the standings after losing 2 of their 3 games.
